<br />~~~ <br />PUBLIC AGENDA SESSION MAY 10.2007 <br />The Public Agenda Session of the Board of Public Works was convened at 10:35 a.m. on <br />Thursday, May 10, 2007, by Board President Mr. Gary A. Gilot, with Board Members Carl P. <br />Littrell and Donald E. Inks present. Also present was Board Attorney Tom Bodnar. Board of <br />Public Works Clerk, Linda M. Martin, presented the Board with a proposed agenda of items <br />presented by the public and by City Staff. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following items were ' <br />added to the agenda: <br />- Title Sheet -Douglas Road Improvements <br />- Street Closure -Employee Appreciation Ceremony <br />- Procession -Bike to Work <br />-Bid Award - 2007 Street Materials <br />- Traffic Control Devices -Bike Lanes on Mishawaka Avenue <br />- Resolution No. 17-2007 -Remove from Agenda <br />Board members discussed the following item(s) from that list. <br />- Safety Report <br />Mr. Patrick Henthorn, Environmental Services, and Mr. Andy Wierzbicki, Water Works, <br />presented their respective Safety Reports for the month of April. <br />- Monthly and Performance Goals Reports <br />Mr. Patrick Henthorn, Environmental Services, and Mr. Andy Wierzbicki, Water Works, <br />presented their respective Monthly and Performance Goals Reports for the month of <br />April. <br />- Good Neighbors/Good Neighborhoods Public Works Irnprovement Program 2007 <br />Mr. Gilot stated that these Bids should be noted as unit price bid awards. <br />OPENING OF BID -IMPROVEMENTS TO RIVER CROSSING NO. 5 (48 INCH ' <br />INVERTED SIPHONS PROJECT NO. 105-017 (SEWER BOND) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News, which were found to be sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly <br />read: <br />HRP CONSTRUCTION. INC. <br />5777 Cleveland Road <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Bid was signed by: Mr. Paul Fallon <br />Non-Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non-Discrimination commitment form was completed <br />Five percent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: Base Bid: $9,175,890.00 <br />Soil Stabilization Jacking Shaft. $470,000.00 <br />Soil Stabilization Retrieval Shaft $380,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks, and carried, the above bid was <br />referred to the Envirorunental Services and Engineering Departments for review and , <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 2007 ROAD <br />REPAIR FOR WATER WORKS MAIN EXTENSIONS (WATER WORKS BONDI <br />Mr. Ed Herman, Water Works, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the <br />above referenced project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />
