{-�9j 17 Medical Wastes except as specifically authorized bv the <br /> Director. <br /> �18) Wastewater causing alone or in conjunction with other sources, the <br /> POTW's effluent to fail a toxicity test. <br /> �� Materials which exert or cause: <br /> a. Unusual concentrations of inert S.S. (such as, but not <br /> limited to, Fullers earth, lime slurries and lime residues) or <br /> of dissolved solids (such as, but not limited to, sodium <br /> chloride and sodium sulfate). <br /> b. Excessive discoloration (such as, but not limited to, dye <br /> wastes and vegetable tanning solutions). <br /> c. Unusual S.S., CBOD, BOD, ammonia-nitrogen, <br /> phosphorus, or chlorine requirements in such quantities as <br /> to constitute a significant load on the sewage treatment <br /> works. <br /> d. Unusual volume of flow or concentration of wastes <br /> constituting "slugs," as defined herein. <br /> {-�8-}� Waters or wastes containing substances which are not amenable <br /> to treatment or reduction by the sewage treatment processes employed, or <br /> are amenable to treatment only to such degree that the sewage treatment <br /> plant effluent will be compromised. <br /> (�9�� It shall be unlawful for any person to place, deposit,permit to be <br /> deposited, or discharged in any manner whatsoever, any substance into a <br /> sewer at a point different than the proposed sewer connection to the <br /> sanitary sewer system. <br /> (d) Categorical Pretreatment_Standards. Users must compl�with the cate og rical <br /> Pretreatment Standards found at 40CFR, Chapter I, Subcha�ter N parts 405-471, <br /> and with the State of Indiana Pretreatment Standards as defined at 327 IAC 5-16 <br /> throu h 327 IAC 5 to 21, as well as anv Local Limits which the Director is <br /> authorized to establish pursuant to 40CFR 403 403.5(c) and any subsequent State, <br /> Federal or Local �uidelines and Rules and Regulations. The Director mav <br /> develop Best Mana�ement Practices (BMP's), by ordinance or in individual <br /> wastewater dischar�permits to implement local limits and the requirements of <br /> this Division. The National Cate�orical Pretreatment Standards, State <br /> Pretreatment Standards, and Local Limits are subject to the followin� restrictions <br /> and prescriptions: <br /> 22 <br />
