Health and Public Safety Committee Meeting of September 27, 2006 <br />Page 5 <br />Council Member Pfeifer stated that "she cannot get the Notre Dame student who <br />died as a result of drinking out of her mind". She stated that "it makes her ill" and <br />that she feels bad for all. She suggested that students be pro_active and patrol <br />those areas which are known for partying. <br />The Council Attorney noting that many Big Ten Universities are using the "Party <br />Smart" program which has University officials and students present after home <br />games around campus; noting that the program has been positively received and <br />effective. <br />Council Member White thanked the student leaders for coming to today's <br />Committee meeting. She thanked them for their pro-active activities with the City <br />of South Bend, and suggested that they meet with the Committee again in three <br />(3} months. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member <br />White adjourned the meeting at 5:01 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />~- _w. <br />Council Member Karen L.
