<br />REGULAR MEETINGJUNE 27, 2005 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in <br />the Council Chambers of the County-City Building on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 7:00 <br />p.m. The meeting was called to order by Council President Charlotte D. Talboom Deputy City Clerk <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB-COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: The sub-committee has inspected <br />the minutes of the June 13, 2005, meeting of the Council and found them to be correct. <br />Therefore, we recommend the same be approved. <br /> s/Charlotte D. Pfeifer <br /> s/David Varner <br />Councilmember made a motion that the minutes of the June 13, 2005, meeting of the <br />Council be accepted and placed on file.Councilmember seconded the motion which <br />carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3478-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> PUBLICLY COMMENDING LORETHA <br /> BUCHANON FOR HER MORE THAN FORTY <br /> (40) YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE IN THE <br /> SOUTH BEND COMMUNITY SCHOOL <br /> CORPORATION <br />Whereas, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes <br />that there are 294 public school corporations and state-accredited nonpublic schools <br />throughout the state of Indiana; and that for the past forty (40) years the South Bend <br />, <br />Community has indeed been fortunate to have LORETHA BUCHANON who has been <br />one of the most influential educators and provided leadership in many schools within <br />the South Bend Community School Corporation; and <br />Whereas, the Common Council is especially proud to publicly honor LORETHA <br />BUCHANON, who started her teaching career in 1964 in South Bend at the old Linden <br />1 <br /> <br />
