<br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 24,2005 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met at <br />the Century Center in (Recital Hall) on Monday January 26, 2005, at 6:00 p.m. The <br />meeting was called to order by Council President Charlotte D. Talboom Deputy City Clerk <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB-COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: The sub-committee has inspected <br />the minutes of the January 10, 2005, meeting of the Council and found them to be <br />correct. <br />Therefore, we recommend the same be approved. <br /> s/Charlotte D. Pfeifer <br /> s/David Varner <br />Councilmember Kelly made a motion that the minutes of the January 10, 2005, meeting <br />of the Council be accepted and placed on file. Councilmember Puzzello seconded the <br />motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3410-05 AN RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON <br /> COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY <br /> THANKING AND COMMENDING THE <br /> OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES OF AN <br /> OUTSTANDING SOUTH BEND <br /> BUSINESS, CARL KAY MEMORIALS, <br /> FOR THEIR MANY PHILANTHROPIC <br /> DONATIONS OF TIME AND TALENT <br /> TO COMMUNITY MONUMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that <br />Carl M. Kay and his wife, Michelene, own and operate Carl Kay Memorials which is a <br />professional monument company located at 4105 South Michigan Street specializing in <br />custom designed monuments. Personalized granite and bronze memorials; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that last Summer, Carl M. Kay and other business <br />leaders from our community met with officials from Czestochowa, Poland, South Bend’s <br />Sister City, to discuss business and investment opportunities in both cities; and <br />1 <br /> <br />
