REGULAR MEETINGNOVEMBER 27, 2006 <br />Section II. The South Bend Common Council believes that the hard-work, <br />discipline, and dedication of each of the student-athletes on the CORPUS CHRISTI <br />THTH <br />COUGARS 7 & 8 GRADE GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM has enabled each of these <br />girls to be an excellent role model with each softball team member bringing the highest <br />of honors to herself, her family and friends, the Corpus Christi Catholic School, the <br />Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, and all of the residents of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Section III . The Common Council wishes the CORPUS CHRISTI COUGARS <br />THTH <br />7 & 8 GRADE GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM the very best in the years ahead, both in <br />the classroom and on the softball field as each of them pursue the highest of all scores in <br />academics and athletics. <br />Section IV . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br />adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />stth <br />s/Derek D. White, At Large <br />th <br />s/Dr. David Varner, 5 District <br />s/Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney <br />s/John Voorde, City Clerk s/Stephen J. Luecke, Mayor <br />Councilmember Kuspa, 434 South Liberty Street, South Bend, Indiana, made the <br />presentation for this Resolution by first offering his comments and then reading the <br />Resolution in its entirety and presenting it to Coach Bob Schaeper. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this Resolution. <br />Mr. Bob Schaeper, Coach, Corpus Christi Catholic School Girls Softball Team, thanked <br />the Council for this honor. Mr. Schaeper stated that it has been an honor coaching such a <br />great group of girls. Not only have they shown outstanding dedication and hard-work, <br />but they are very disciplined student-athletes. <br />Councilmember Kuspa made a motion to adopt this Resolution by acclamation. <br />Councilmember Pfeifer seconded the motion which carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3666-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> PUBLICLY COMMENDING THE ST. <br /> ANTHONY/ST. JOSEPH FOOTBALL TEAM <br /> FOR WINNING THE 2006 INTER-CITY <br /> CATHOLIC LEAGUE (ICCL) LOCAL <br /> CHAMPIONSHIP <br />Whereas, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to <br />recognize that St. Anthony De Padua School is located at 2310 East Jefferson Boulevard <br />in South Bend and St. Joseph Elementary School is located at 216 North Hill Street in <br />South Bend, and both of these schools provide excellent educational opportunities for <br />th <br />students from kindergarten through the 8 grade; and <br />Whereas, the Council notes that both St. Anthony and St Joseph schools are <br />associated with the National Catholic Educational Association; are affiliated with the <br />7 <br /> <br />
