REGULAR MEETING MARCH 13, 2006 <br />2005 with 89,501 tickets sold; resulting in the Morris being ranked ahead of the Chicago <br />Theatre and behind New York’s Radio City Music Hall; and <br />, <br />Now, Therefore, be it resolved by the Common Council of South Bend, Indiana, <br />as follows: <br />Section I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Common Council publicly acknowledges that the 2,500-seat MORRIS PERFORMING <br />ARTS CENTER has been ranked # 46 of the world’s top 100 theaters in 2005 by <br />Pollstar <br />, the concert industry magazine. <br />Section II. The South Bend Common Council would especially like to publicly <br />thank the hard-working, innovative and creative staff of the Morris, namely: <br />Dennis J. Andres, Executive Director Sara Ermeti, Assistant Executive Director <br />Mary Ellen Smith, Exec. Ass’t & Office Mgr Marika Hegedus, Accounting Manager <br />Denise Zigler, Ass’t Dir. Theater Event Operations David Davenport, Facility Engineer <br />Katherine “Cat” Nelson, Technical Stage Mgr. Wendy Garner, Box Office Manager <br />Michelle DeBeck, Ass’t Box Office Manager Ron Vogler, Senior Box Office Assistant <br />and further recognize that due to their dedication and professionalism the MORRIS <br />PERFORMING ARTS CENTER will continue to be an anchor in downtown South Bend <br />in years to come. <br />Section III . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br />adoption by the Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />st <br />s/Derek D. LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation <br />for this Resolution by first offering her comments and then reading the Resolution in its <br />entirety and presenting to Dennis Andres, Executive Director, Morris Performing Arts <br />Center. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this Resolution. <br />Dennis Andres, Executive Director, Morris Performing Arts Center, thanked the Council <br />for this honor. He thanked his staff for their hard work and dedication. <br />Councilmember Kelly made a motion to adopt this Resolution by acclamation. <br />Councilmember Kirsits seconded the motion which carried. <br />REPORTS OF CITY OFFICES <br />4 <br /> <br />
