Projects, 574-235-5855 c. 574-876-1564 <br /> South Bend Fire Hosts Indiana River Rescue School <br /> This week, firefighters from Kansas, Ohio, Kentucky, as well as Monticello, Anderson, and <br /> Decatur, Indiana are participating in swift water rescue training at South Bend's East Race <br /> Waterway and on the St. Joseph River. Multiple trainings stations will be operating along the <br /> downtown riverfront. <br /> Following a week on the water mastering an array of in-water skills, 30+ First Responders will <br /> receive state certification for Swift Water Rescue. This year, South Bend Fire is partnering with <br /> Zodiac Boats and Mustang International to provide additional certification and training. <br /> In addition to the Indiana River Rescue Certification, participants will also complete Zodiac <br /> Maritime Boat Certification. Mustang International, an outfitter for Military/Marine equipment is <br /> using South Bend as a site for new product testing and for product research and development. <br /> Mustang's R & D Product Engineer will be on site as well. <br /> Training will be on-going Wednesday and Thursday from 8am— 5 pm. Testing will take place on <br /> Friday. Media opportunities can be schedule for Wednesday and Thursday to avoid any conflicts <br /> with the testing on Friday.
