Local Blues, Irish, Oldies, Blues/Jazz, Pop and Country bands will take "the stage" in the Jon R. Hunt Plaza in front of the historic Morris Performing Arts Center during lunchtime from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on six Fridays in June, July and August. The concerts are free and open to the public. Scheduled bands include: June 8 ............. Duke Tomatoe Duo (Blues) June 22............ Kennedy's Kitchen (Irish) July 6 ............. The Chargers (Oldies) July 20 ............ Blues, Inc. (Blues and Jazz) August 3 ......... High Life (Adult Contemporary) August 17 ........ Shilo (Country) Lunch will be available to purchase from downtown vendors The Morris Bistro, Papa John's, and State Cafe. A variety of lunchtime favorites including pizza, sandwiches, and salads will be available. Tables will be set up around the plaza to enjoy the concert. People are also welcome to bring a sack lunch, a chair or blanket and relax on the lawn. Since 2001, Fridays by the Fountain has attracted a wide audience to the plaza. Local business people, families and senior citizens alike have come to enjoy the free concerts, outdoor dining opportunities and the spectacular restored plaza fountain. Save the dates and plan to come enjoy the fun and festive atmosphere in downtown South Bend at Fridays by the Fountain 2007!
