Luecke has proclaimed Saturday, December 10, 2005 and every <br /> second Saturday in December, as the official Nutcracker Day for the City of South Bend. <br /> This year marks the 25a' anniversary of the Southold Dance Theater's classical <br /> performance of The Nutcracker Ballet, composed by Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky. <br /> The Nutcracker Ballet is a holiday tradition presented by the Southold Dance <br /> Theater at the Morris Performing Arts Center,where Southold is in-residence. With all <br /> new choreography, under the direction of Artistic Director,Alexei Kremnev, and Artistic <br /> Associate,Anna Reznik, this year's Nutcracker is soon to be the delight of our <br /> community's festive season. <br /> On Saturday,December 10 and Sunday,December 11, 2005, The Southold Dance <br /> Theater will perform for over 8,000 schoolchildren in four special performances <br /> specifically designed for them. In addition, on December 10 and December 11, Southold <br /> Dance Theater will be presenting three performances for the public, at the Morris <br /> Performing Arts Center. <br /> Mayor Luecke encourages residents to support the valuable contributions that the <br /> arts and organizations like Southold Dance Theater make to the quality of life and <br /> cultural vitality of our community. <br />
