To date South Bend has <br /> collected 2700 Christmas trees and 70,000 yards of leaves (loose leaves only - does not include <br /> bagged leaves also collected). <br /> Yard waste and bagged leaf pickup service,provided by the Division of Environmental <br /> Services, will continue to be available on a call-in basis throughout the winter. To schedule a <br /> pickup, please call the Bureau of Solid Waste at 277-8823. <br /> All trees, leaves, and yard waste are recycled at Organic Resources to produce high <br /> quality mulch and compost, as part of South Bend's proactive environmental stewardship. <br /> Mulch and compost will be available at Organic Resources this spring, and is free to all South <br /> Bend residents. <br /> -more- <br />
