! <br /> � <br /> F . � ' PERSONNEL AND FINANCE FEBRUARY 14, 2011 <br /> Committee Members Present: Tom LaFountain; Oliver Davis; Karen White; David <br /> Varner <br /> Other Council Members Presenfi Derek Dieter; Henry Davis; Ann Puzzello; Tim Rouse; AI <br /> Kirsits <br /> Others Present: Don Inks; Gary Gilot; Jonathan Burke; Gregg Zientara; <br /> Chuck Leone; Mayor Stephen Luecke <br /> Agenda: Bill No. 11-12 Scrap Metal Licenses <br /> John Voorde, City Clerk explained to the Personnel & Finance Committee that though Greentech <br /> was slightly late with their application, the company had passed muster with all relevant city <br /> departments. After his convincing presentation, Councilmember Oliver Davis moved the bill go <br /> favorably to Council. Councilmember Varner followed with a second. There was unanimous <br /> approval. <br /> Under miscellaneous, the City's Director of Public Works, Gary Gilot introduced Jonathan Burke, <br /> recently hired as the City's Energy Manager. His goal is to save the city at least enough in <br /> energy costs to more than cover his salary. Councilmember Rouse asked how he was now being <br /> paid. Gary responded explaining a federal grant for energy savings would pay the first two years <br /> costs. The federal grant was received from the"green commission." Councilmember Varner <br /> asked about the nature of the commission. Gary explained it originated from the U.S. Conference <br /> of Mayors. <br /> Councilmember Henry Davis asked if there had been any progress installing the flashing school <br /> zone, lights on Main and Michigan for Xavier School. Gary Gilot said the lights had been ordered <br /> and would be installed promptly. <br /> There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson <br /> LaFountain adjourned the meeting at 4:01 p.m. <br /> Res y d <br /> / <br /> , <br /> ountain, Chairperson <br /> Personnel and Finance Committee <br />
