U �u�� AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH LOCATED IN CENTRE AND PENN TOWNSHIPS, ST . JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA (EMRO/NDCU ANNEXATION) STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of South Bend to annex and bring within the corporate limits of the City of South Bend certain territory that is contiguous with the City of South Bend. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows : SECTION I . That the following described real estate situated in St . Joseph County, Indiana, having approximately fifty-one percent (51o) of its aggregate external boundaries contiguous with the present boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and hereby is annexed to and brought within the City of South Bend, Indiana: A parcel of land located in the E. 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of Section 30 T. 37 N. R. 3 E. , Centre Township, St . Joseph County, Indiana; and in the W. 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 29 T. 37 N. , R. 3 E. , Penn Township, St . Joseph County, Indiana, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the SE corner of lot A of Hi-View original town 1st replat; then south parallel to the East line of lot 16 of Hi-View (original town) to the Nor�h line of lot 148 of said subdivision; thence West 60 feet to the SE corner of lot 16 of Hi-View (original town) ; thence South along the East line of lots 17 through 31 of said subdivision to a point 30 feet South of the NE corner of lot 31 of said subdivision; thence West on a line parallel to the North line of lot 31 of said subdivision to the center line of Ironwood Road, also being the City limits of the City of South Bend, Indiana; thence North along said center line and the City limits to the center line of Ireland Road, thence West along said center line 275 feet to the City limits of the City of South Bend; thence North parallel with the West right-of-way line of Ironwood Road 245 feet to the City limits of the City of South Bend; thence East parallel with the North right-of-way line of Ireland Road 175 to the West right-of-way line of Ironwood Road; thence North along the West line of said road 175 .42 feet to a point 380 .42 feet North of the North right-of-way line of Ireland Road, said point also being the City limits of the City of South Bend; tYience East to the East right-of-way line of Ironwood Road; thence South along said line to the North right-of-way line of Ireland Road; thence East along said line to a point of intersection with the East line, extended, of lot A of Hi-View original town 1st replat; thence South along said extended line and the East line of said lot to the point of beginning.
