<br />SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION N0. 371.
<br />Resolvdd by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend.St.
<br />Sosepu County, State of Indiatta, That' it is d€nmed necessary to improve The South
<br />side of Broadway from Main Street to Franklin Street as follows:
<br />By the construction of
<br />cement sidewalk on the south side of said. street v6ere not already eoustructed. All
<br />as shown, on the plans, and in, accordance with the specifications, detail drawings
<br />_and profiles on file in the office of the Department of Publi c Works of the City o f
<br />South Bend,Ixd:ianat in accordance with the profile, details; drawings and specifications
<br />on file in the of fiee- of the Department of Public Workd of said City; an. d., sueh improve-
<br />ment is now ordered.
<br />The cost of said improvement ,including the cost of street and alley inter-
<br />sections, shall be assessed upon the real estate abutting on said south'side of Broadwqv
<br />All according to the method and manner provided for in an Act of the general Assembly
<br />of the State of Indiana, entitled "An Act Concerning Municipalm Corporations," approved
<br />March 6,1905, and .in accordance with and pursuant to the Pw visions of all amendatory
<br />and supplemental acts thereto, passed by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana.
<br />Assessments, if deferred, are to be.paid in ten equal amual installments' with inter-
<br />est -at th rate of Six Per cent pr anm m. A bond or bonds shall be issued to the con-
<br />-tractor in payment for such work,unless the property owners pay said assessment before
<br />said bond or bonds are issued. Under no eircumstanees shall the City of South Bend be,
<br />or be held responsible for any sum or sums due from said property owner or owners for
<br />said work or for the collection, of the same, or for the payment of any bond, bonds, eerti-
<br />ficate or certificates, issued to said contractor in payment for such work, exeept for
<br />such moneys as shall have been actually received Vy the City from the assessments for
<br />such improvement, or such moneys as said City is by said above entitled Act Required to
<br />pay. All proeeedings had, and work done in the making of said improvement, assessment
<br />of pproperty collection. of .assessments and isuance of bonds therefor, shall be as pro-
<br />vid3ed for In said above entitled Act and amendments thereto.

<br />1915 and on the 20th. play of April,1915 in the South Bead Dail3?ribun.e. The Board will
<br />give a hearing on this resolution -in its office in the City Hall on. the 4the day of

<br />LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION N0. 372.
<br />JRESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,,
<br />COUNTY OF ST.JOSEPH,STATE OF INDIANA. That the construction of a local sewer,in-
<br />tended and adapted only for local use by the property holders, whose property abuts
<br />thereon, and not intended or adapted for reeeiv.inG sewerage from collateral drains,
<br />be and the same is ,hereby ordered -in and along BOWMAN STREET FROM THE BOVNAN CRC}EK
<br />TRUNK SEINER to a point 130 feet east of the east line of Michigan. Street as follows,
<br />to -wit: -
<br />Beginning at the intersection of the ce ter line of Boman Street produced
<br />e st and the Boman Creek Trunk sewer; thence west on the center line of Boman Creek
<br />Street and Bowman Street produced east to the center of Carroll Street with a 15 inch
<br />vitrified pine sewer; thence still west along the center line of. Boman Street to a. point
<br />about 130 feet east of the east line of Michigan Street tdth a 12 inch vitrif'ie'd pipe
<br />sewer. Together with the necessary manholes, inlets, flush tank, conduits and house,
<br />conne etions to the curb line long the line of said improv,et!ent. All as shown on the
<br />plan, and in accordance with the profiles, detail drawings aid specifications on file
<br />in the office of=the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />And such improvement is now ordered and said sewer, with all its appurtenances
<br />shall°be constructed in accordance with the profile and specifications now on file in
<br />the office of the Department of Publ1a Works of said City. The cost of said improve-
<br />ment shall ebe apportioned against and paid by the property holders whose property abuts
<br />thereon, and upon. the City of South Bend if the City is benefited by said improvement,
<br />all according to the method and manner provided for in Act of the General Assembly of
<br />the State of Indiana, entitled "An. Act Concerning Municipal Corporations," approved
<br />March 691905.
