South Bend, <br />v a <br />The Grand Trunk Western Railway Company respectfully shows to the Board that <br />its main track bridge over St. Louis Street in the City of South Bend is in need of addi— <br />tional support by reason, first, of the age of the girdersf. and second, of the heavy <br />equipment which is now being used upon road and over the bridge; that the said bridge was <br />originally supported by two bents inside the curb line, resting on a masonry foundation <br />and that it has heretofore placed an additional bent of piling on the west side of the <br />street about eight feet east of the west bent; and that in judgement of its en gsneers <br />an additional bent of piling or frame work should be placed on the eadt side of said <br />.street about six feet west of the east bent; that,the safety of the public requires that <br />this precaution be. taken at once and it therefore requests permission to install such bent <br />After the installation of such additional bent, there will be a clear space of eighteen <br />feet for public travel between the bents <br />GRAND TRUNK WES TERN RAILWAY CO. <br />BY G.
