Cottage Grove <br />AverYue from Portage Avenue to Michigan Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 345. <br />and were referred to the City Civil Engineer$ for tabulation to be reported on at <br />7:45 P.M. this 15th., dayof Sept., 1914. <br />J Bids were received and opened for resirfacing of Marion Street from W. line <br />of St. Joseph Street to East line, of lot 5 Hammond and Whitcomb Addition, under <br />improvement Resolution No. 338, and the same were referred to the City Engineer for <br />tabulation to be reported on at 7:45 P.M. this 15th., day of September,1914. <br />In regard to c-omplaint of defective walk at Northwest corner of Cushing ' . <br />j Street and La Salle Avenue, the street Commissioner reported same not in a dangerous <br />condition and that all immediate action be deferred. The Board approved of his <br />report.. <br />The City Civil Engineer filed with the Board the estimated cost of the <br />J pavement of Cottage Grove Avenue from Oak Street to Grand View Avenue Cat ...$3,050.00 <br />A partial estimate was allowed Matthias Feser on Contract, for sidewalks <br />on Various Streets in the City of South Bend, Ind. for the amount of ........ $72.90 <br />The Board at the request of the President of the Board of Public Safety, <br />ordered the Central Union Telephone Compa ny to remove:. telephone No. 748=from the <br />Chief of Police office into the Captain of Police office, and to place two -two way <br />extensions, one in the, office of the Chief of Detectives and on ein the office of the <br />Chief, also push buttons. The South Bend Hone Telephone Company to be notified to <br />remove- telephone No. 1501 fro m the Chief of Police office into the Captain of <br />Police office, and a two way extension placed in the Chief of Police and Detectives <br />-offices off of said phone with push. buttons, Telephone No. 6146 now located in the <br />office of the Captain of Police to be discontinued after October lst.,1914 <br />The Central Union Tel. Company was ordered notified to transfer Telephone <br />J tiow located in the Captain of Police residence to the resident3e of the Chief of Police <br />Milliard F.Kerr at 302 E. Battell Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. <br />The City Civil Engineer filed the estimated cost of the Trunk sewer on <br />High Street from Dayton Street to Bowman Street at....................$3,752.10 <br />Street Commissioner reported on complaint of defective sidewalk at 117 E. <br />Sample Street. The Board ordered a thirty day noticesent to Dudley M. Shively <br />J Receiver far ,the estate of the Cohen property, notifying him to have same repair <br />or new cement walk constructed within thirty days or the same would be put in by the <br />City under Improvement Resolution No 294. for the construction sidewalks in .various <br />streets in the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Street Commissioner reported on the following defective intersections <br />also z§ldewalk'.,exten:;tb belpladed.The Board approved of the same and ordered that <br />the City Contractor be instructed to place the same. as follows. <br />'39 + Corner of Witwer Avenue and Penn.
