U �� / AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 8623-95 OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND NON-BARGAINING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR CALENDAR YEARS 1996, 1997 AND 1998 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, adopted its Ordinance No. 8623-95 on September 25, 1995, which ordinance established the annual compensation for all non- bargaining employee positions with the City of South Bend, for calendar years 1996 through 1998, inclusive. Ordinance No. 8623-95 was subsequently amended by Ordinance Nos. 8649-95 and 8720-96 to make certain technical corrections. The Common Council has determined that it is required that Ordinance No. 8623-95, as amended, be further amended to adjust the 1997 and 1998 salaries of certain positions, and to establish hourly rates of pay that correspond to the annual compensation for these positions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: SECTION I .
