LUECKE,MAYOR <br /> DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION Bi FINANCE <br /> GRECG D.ZIENTARA <br /> CONTROLLER <br /> February 23, 2011 <br /> Mr. Derek Dieter <br /> President, South Bend Common Council <br /> 4"'Floor, County-City Building <br /> South Bend, IN 46601 <br /> re: Appropriation of Common Council for State of Indiana Grant Monies for the Construction of the <br /> Kroc Center in the City of South Bend <br /> Dear President Dieter: <br /> On June 28, 2010, the Common Council adopted Ordinance 10016-10, appropriating $2,000,000 in State <br /> of Indiana Grant pass through funds for the operating endowment for the Ray and Joan Kroc Center to be <br /> constructed at Western and Chapin Streets in the City of South Bend. <br /> The State of Indiana grant funds were defined to be awarded for the project in four (4) payment tranches <br /> of$500,000, the first in July of 2010, with the remaining three (3)in fiscal 2011. <br /> This bill, will appropriate, the remaining $1,500,000, of the State of Indiana Grant funds to the Kroc <br /> Center project, for receipt from the State of Indiana, and pass through to the Salvation Army, during fiscal <br /> 2011. <br /> Funds will be received from the State of Indiana, and upon receipt will be disbursed to the Salvation <br /> Army, in accordance with the stipulations of the State of Indiana Grant. <br /> Funds will be received in Fund 210, State Grant, and will be disbursed from the same fund. Payment <br /> tranches from the State of Indiana will be in increments of$500,000, receipted by the City of South Bend <br /> and disbursed to the Salvation Army in$500,000 tranches, following receipt of funds. <br /> This bill is presented to Council for first read at the February 28 meeting, committee meeting, 2"d read, 3�d <br /> read and Council vote on March 14, 2011. <br /> Controller Zientara will present this bill to Council at the committee meeting and at the Council session. <br /> Regard" Filed in Cl��k',� �fficG <br /> Gregg i ara ��� � � ��j'i j <br /> cc: Stephen J.
