South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting —March 8, 2011 Hathaway services. The total amount of the agreement is $95,000 which includes $71,000 for consulting fees, $9,000 for office space and $15,000 for reimbursables. The bulk of work under the contract would have Ms. Hathaway overseeing the contract with BSA Life Structures for master planning and Graham Allen Partners for a feasibility study, ultimately providing us with options for a consultant to write a business plan for Ignition Park. She would continue to oversee the PUD, to work on making sure the architectural review board is set up, to continue doing research on technology for us and to continue as the Ignition Park director and the contact for potential prospects to locate at Ignition Park. Mr. Gibney added that Mr. Inks sent out a summary to Commission members on March 4, 2011, which briefly summarized all the contracts entered into so far related to planning for Ignition Park. We have learned an enormous amount since we started talking about Innovation Park, Ignition Park and the wagon -train of businesses that we expected to flow from Innovation Park to Ignition Park. We now understand we have to be much more proactive than reactive for businesses to come here. We have learned a lot through Ms. Hathaway's research as she travelled all over the country, all over the mid -west, and looked at successful parks, old parks, new parks, small parks, parks associated with universities and has really been a great aid to the staff. Three years ago staff was cut back in Community & Economic Development. Ms. Hathaway has been doing a great job to assist the staff. In terms of the people Ms. Hathaway will be working with in 2011 and 2012, they're all housed at Innovation Park at this time. Ms. 7
