All members present. <br />Bids for pipe sewers on tte following streets were opened, read and <br />referred to the City Civil Engineer for tabulation. <br />Pipe sewer on Tecumseh Avenue from Parkovash Avenue to Pokagon Street, under Improvement <br />Resolution No. 312. <br />/Pipe sewer on Vassar Avenue from Portage Avenue to Riverside Drive, under Improvement <br />Resolution No. 311. <br />J Pipe sever. on Dayton Street from Witwer Avenue to Miami Street, under Improvement Resolu- <br />tion No. 313. <br />Bids received for trunk sewer on Leer Street acid Calvert Street Streets from St. Joseph <br />f River to Vernon Street, under improvement Resolution No. 3092 the same were read and re- <br />ferred to City Civil Engineer for tabulation. <br />In the matter of the improvement of Cedar Street from Emerick Street to <br />Eddy Street under Improvement Resolution No. 295 1914 T.E.Howard et al on June 13th.91914 <br />before 10:00 A.M. having filed their petition before said Board, wherein they claim that <br />they are a majority of the resident freeholders whose property abuts upon said street to <br />be improved., and petition that said street be improved with Asphaltic Concrete; therefore, <br />said petition is referred to the City Civil Engineer for investigation, and report con- <br />cerning the number of resident free holders on that part of said street which it is proposed <br />to improve. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />Now comes the City Civil Engineer and reports as -follows: - <br />In the matter of the petition of T.E.Howard and others for the improvement <br />of Cedar Street from Emerick Street to Eddy Street, with Asphaltic Concrete, according to <br />Improvement Resolution No. 29521914. I hereby report that the number of resident free- <br />holders whose property abuts_ on said proposed work is 29, of which 18 have sighed said peti- <br />tion. <br />Very respectfully, <br />_ WM. MOORE, <br />City Civil Engineer. <br />The report of the City Civil Engineer having been received from which it <br />appears that there are 29 resident freeholders on the part of Cedar Street from Emerick <br />Street to Eddy Street, to be improved under Improvement Resolution No. 295,1914 and that <br />19 resident freeholders have duly and legally executed and filed a petition before this <br />Board requesting that said street be improved with Asphaltic concrete, which number con- <br />stitutes a majority of the resident rreeholders whose property abuts on said street to be <br />improved, and it appearing that bids have been received for said kind of pavement, it is <br />hereby unanimously ordered by the Board that the preliminary order heretofore passed desi- <br />gnating the kind of pavement with which said street is to be imp roved, be and is hereby <br />modified., and Asphaltic Concrete is fixed as the kind of pavement with which said street <br />is to be improved, and awards the contract for said improvement to Rankert & Eggleston, <br />they being the lowest and best bidders. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />Bond of contractor for One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars signed by Eliaz G. <br />Metz as principal and W. K. McHenry and Clifford Du Comb as sureties, was approved by the <br />Board. <br />Petition for a pipe sewer on Division Street from Olive Street to Chicago <br />Avenue was filed with tie Board by property ov�ners on Division with a communication.
