Burner,President and the Massachusetts Bonding and Insurance <br />Company, was approved by the Board. <br />The following ten (10) day notice was ordered sent to the Chicago, Lake <br />Shore and South Bend Railway Company. <br />You are hereby notified to rebate property owners within Ten (10) dams to <br />whom you are indebted for the change of pavement on Main Street .and LaSa-.le Avenue. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS-. <br />Also communication notifying them to change pavement from brick to asphalt on Main Street <br />between LaSalle Avenue and Washington Avenue in, accordance with franchise, within Ten (10) <br />days. <br />The. Street Co -nr ssioner ,r�Ta..s instructed t^ Place cinders at the corner of <br />Blaine Avenue and Berner -Street. <br />The contract for the grade, curb and walk on Pennsylvania Avenue from. <br />HiJi Street To Mi,-TL St—{, under Improvement Res011ution No. 310. was awarded to <br />H.N. Barnes. <br />The contract for the pipe sewer on Campau Street from center of Walsh St. <br />to center of lst. alley east of Walsh Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 305, was <br />awarded to L. H. Webster, contractor. <br />The City Engineer submitted the list of property owners in the matter of <br />J the appropriation of certain property under .Condemnation Resolution No. 29(whieh is on <br />page 333 of this record)which list includes the names of the owners and holders of pro— <br />perty and of interests therein sought to be taken or beneficially or injuriously effected, <br />and the description �of the several pieces of property which is affected by the said appro— <br />priation proceedings. <br />Thereupon the Board proceeded to award the damages sustained and to <br />assess the benefits accruing to each piece of property upon said list: , <br />It was thereupon, upon Motion duly made and seconded and unanimously <br />adopted, resolved that said list, together with the amount of benefits and damages and net <br />benefits and net damages therein set forth -as to the several parcels of land be adopted <br />and ordered spread upon this record by reference, -and that the respective amount of bene— <br />fits contained in said list be and are hereby assessed against the several tracts of <br />land as specifically set forth in said list, and that the respective amounts of damages <br />contained ii the said list be and are hereby awarded to the several tracts of land as <br />specifically set forth in said list, and that the net benefits or net damages, as the case <br />may be as to the respective tracts of land, contained in said list are hereby awarded or <br />assessed , as the case may be as to the said several tracts of land. <br />The Board hereby further sets off the benefits and damages each against <br />the other where both benefits and damages are assessed against the same piece of property, <br />tract of land or interest, and hereby fixes said respective net benefits as the amount <br />that shall be paid by the respective owners as benefit-s, and further hereby fixes the <br />respective net damages as to the several tracts as the amount that shall be paid to the <br />owners of the respective tracts as damages. <br />Thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded and.unaninously adopted <br />the 29th.2 day of ,July,1914 was fixed as the day on which this Board will receive or <br />hear remonstrances --from persons with regard to the amount of their respective awards <br />of assessments, and the Clerk of this Board was instructed to prepare and cause to be <br />duly and legally given, notices to the owners of each parcel of property, showing the <br />amount of the assessment or award, with a description of.the property affected, and the <br />date of said hearing. <br />
