1969 Petition presented to the Board for a street light on Kline Street at the crossing of the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway,(or corner of Dayton and Kline Sts.. The same was read and referred to the Street Commissioner for investigation.. Permission granted the Indiana &Michigan Elec. Companynto set their poles i as follows: - To set 1 - 40tpole on the northeast corner of Golden and Portage Avenuo,This pole to be set jointly with C.U. Tel. Co. and Northern Ind. Street Car Company,in accordance to Ordinance No. 1650 .- Permission was granted the Central Union Telephone Company to set the follow ng poles. / To -set two(?) thirty (30) foot poles on the east side of College Street, be- tween Longley Avenue and Werwinski Street. Communication received from F. B. Bellis in regard to thirty day notice on ✓defective sidewalk at 1073 Woodward Avenue. The same was read and placed on file. Report filed with the Board for the repairing of the intersections at.Marion Street and Riverside Drive. The same was read and referred to the Street Commissioner to investigate. STREET OR ALLEY IMPROV&MENT RESOLUTION NO. 322. Be It Resolved By the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,St. Josepi Counter, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to improve THE 4'IRST A:jLEY WEST OF MAIN STREET FROM LASALLE AVEN27E TO MADISON STREET. ALSO THE FIRST ALLEY !TO''TH OF LASALLE AVENUE FROM MAIN STREET TO LAFAYETTE STREET,as follows,to-wit:- By grad;.ng said First alley West of Main Street from LaSalle Avenue to Madison Street,'also the First alley north of LaSalle, Avenue from Main Street to Lafayette Street; f ^- property line to property line, and paving said alleys tneir dull width, with ASPHALT,ASPHALTIC CONCRETE, BITULITHIC,WOODEN BLOCKS OR BRICK LAID ON A FIVE INCH PORTLAND CEIADTT GRAVEL CONCRETE FOUNDA@ TION,or with BRICK LAID ON A SIX INCH ROLLED GRAVEL FOUNDATION,or a CONCRETE PAVEMENT, Placing -the necessary marginal cement curb, "tire construction of the necessary inlets and conduits, All as shown on the plans, and in accordance livith the profiles, detail drawings and specifications on file in the office of the Department of Public Works of said City. And such improvement is now ordered. The cost of the improvement herein provided for, except -street and alley in- tersections, shall be paid by special assessment to be levied upon the property specially benefitte# to the amount that the sane may be legally assessed therefor, in accordance witk an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled "An Concerning Munio.pal Corporations," approved March 6,1905, and in accordance vrith and pursuant to the pm visions of all acts amendatory and supplemental thereto. The cost of all street and alley intersections, including one-half of the width of the improvement opposite street and alleys which run into, but do net cress said roadway herein proposed -to be improved and that portion of such street and alley abutting upon pro- perty belonging to said City, or upon property not -subject to such assessment,shall be paid by the City in cash out of its general fund, if able to do so, or from a dund crested by a special assckssment'to be levied under the provisions of Section. 109 of the above enetitled Act.
