South Bend Redevelopment Commission Regular Meeting—February 22, 2010 6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) F. Airport Economic Development Area (4) continued... the establishment of a five-member Architectural Review Board in order for the Commission to sell land in Ignition Park and to oversee any development of the park so that it meets the PUD requirements and the architectural guidelines. Four of the seats on the review board are appointed by the Commission.. At a recent Commission meeting, the Commission made three appointments to the board: the Executive j Director of Economic Development and the I Director of Ignition Park. Gary Gilot is the � third position. One of the positions of the five is to be an appointment by the Common Council, Tim Rouse. There is, then, one ' remaining appointment to be made by the � I' Commission. Staff recommends Doug Marsh for that position. Doug is a South � Bend native who graduated from Notre Dame in 1982. He was in the private sector for about 13 years as an architect and then joined Notre Dame. During his tenure at Notre Dame, he's been responsible for the development for the planning design construction of about 27 new projects, for the renovation of 26 substantial projects, all of that being worth about $600,000,000. He's responsible for maintaining about 9,000,000 square feet of space. Ms. Hathaway said staff feels very fortunate to be able to bring forward a person of his qualifications for a position on the Architecture Review Board and asks for approval of Doug Marsh.
