REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 2007 <br />back property tax collection issues with the site. It will be purchased by Mother Earth <br />and leased to Green Tech. The project is on the former Studebaker Plant 8 site off of <br />Ewing Avenue. The prior decaying building on the site is being 98% recycled upon <br />deconstruction. Anew 52,800 sq. ft. processing facility will be constructed. The <br />estimated cost of the new building, driveways and storage infrastructure is $1,608,000. <br />The amount of waste that will be converted annually in the facility is estimated at <br />8,400,000 pounds. Material brought to the transfer station will be unloaded onto the <br />tipping floor, inspected and sorted. Recyclable material will be moved to automatic and <br />manual sorting conveyor and baler systems to be processed and marketed. Non- <br />recyclable material will be transported to approved landfills. Green Tech will own the <br />equipment that will be used in the facility that will consist of a 70 foot by 10 foot steel <br />deck truck scale, ramps, wiring, control panels with scale house, automatic sorting <br />conveyor, product balers, platform scale, material handlers, and computer systems. Mr. <br />Morris estimated that the total project will create nine (9) new, permanent, full-time jobs <br />representing a new annual payroll of $217,256. The project is developing a completely <br />new facility and, therefore, does not have any existing employees. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolutions at this time. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to these Resolutions. <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to adopt Bill No. 07-114. Councilmember Kelly <br />seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of <br />seven (7) ayes. <br />Councilmember Varner made a motion to adopt Bill No. 07-115.
