Engeldrum <br />All members were present. <br />Minutes of the last regular meeting were re,-:d- a.nd approved. <br />FIRE DEPT. <br />Fire Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed that the application of Andrew Cornya Jr. be accepted <br />and ordered. placed on file,: <br />notion prevailed that the resigination of Fireman George Fr.omader <br />as of January 1st. 1929 be accepted. <br />11otion prevailed that John C. Borkows'ii be appointed as a. member of the <br />Fire Dept. to begin duty January 16th. , 1929. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPT. <br />Electrical Dept. bills were approved a.nd_ ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed that the weekly-report of Supt. (,ua11s for. the week <br />ending; January 6th. be approved and ordered placed on file. <br />DEPT. OF WEIM ry S & is EASURES <br />City Sealers bills were approved a:nd ord -red paid. <br />POLICE DLPT . <br />Police Dept. bills were a.pproved f rd ordered paid. <br />Lotion nreve.iled that. the applications of IFQss F. Seals be accepted and ordered paced on file, <br />also the application for r•einst -te pent of I.J.rR,uszkowski. <br />12otion prevailed that no parking zones be established under a,ll <br />road viaducts and be extended a reasonable distance back therefrom <br />the ek:a.ct distance to be determined by the Chief of Police. <br />Notion prevailed that the Fraternal Order Of Police be a.11owea to <br />furnish the Squad Room for a club room for thdi use of a.11 members and` <br />Police Officers. <br />Tot on'prevailed that Chief Hatt be instructed to make a. cc,:reful c1heck <br />of all traffic law violations by taxi drivers for the comming week, and <br />report to the B a_- °d at the next regular meting. <br />Officer John I ITorthup who had been suspended since Dec 26th. ,128, a.nd <br />had been granted a continuance until this date a.ppea.red before the Board <br />to stand trial. <br />( COPY OF CIARGES ) <br />South Bend, Ind. Dec. 26th. 1928 <br />To The Honorable Board of Public Safety: <br />Gentlemen: <br />I herelnrith prefer the following; charges a.Ea.inst P?trolme.n <br />John I. Northup. <br />That Officer John I Northup hr: s b een guiltr of gross <br />neglect of duty in that he violated Rule #t 22 a.s set forth on.page <br />11 of the Temporary Book of Regulations. <br />Officer Northup 'fa.iled to report for special duty on Sun. <br />Night December 16th. 1928 when he had been previously order °ed to do so <br />by a superior officer. A full report covering this neglect of duty, as <br />prere.ired by the superiors, will be submitted to the Boa.2 °d of Public <br />Safety. <br />I wish to further state that the above charge which if true. <br />is predjudicial to the good order and discipline of the South =bend <br />Police Dept. A copy of this charge has been delivered to Patrolman Northup <br />and he ha.s b.en saspendted from.Dec 26th.,1928 lending the hearing of <br />
