44 The regul6,r weekly meeting of the Board of Public Safety Nvas held; in the <br />Boards Office <br />Monday November 26th., 1928 <br />Meeting was called. to order at 4 :10 P.I.j. by .President Engeldrum <br />Allmembers were present <br />Motion prevailed th dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last <br />regular,meeting. <br />FIRE DEPT. <br />Fire Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPT <br />Electrical Dept. bills wdre approved and. ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed that the weekly report of Supt Qualls for the week ending <br />November 25th. be accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />DEPT. OF WEIGHTS & MEASURES <br />City Sealers bills were approved and ordered paid. <br />POLICE DEPT. <br />Police Dept. billt were approved a.nd ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed that the applications of Wm. H. Horton, Ralph F. Marley, <br />and Thomas F. Densmore be accepted and ordered. placed on file. <br />Motion prevailed that Chief Hatt, Asst. Chief Kuespert,' and. Mr. <br />Engeldrum who composed the committee q_;pointecl to investigate traffic <br />conditions on William St. from Jefferson Blvd. to L.W.West be given until <br />the next regular meeting; to render a report. <br />Chief Hatt reported that Police Of-'icers were detailed to all the inter - <br />sections on William St. from Jefferson Blvd. to L.W.4 "lest to direct traffic. <br />during the hours when traffic conditions on William St. <br />,.neccessitated. directing. <br />Motion prevailed that the. 15 minute tai.ting zone in front of 219 -and 221 <br />S. St. Joseph St. be discontinued and a: 32 foot, 15 minute waiting zone <br />be esta=blished in front of`208- 210 -212 and. 214 S. St. Joseph St. <br />Motion prevailed that the Clerk be' ordered- to purchase a new side car <br />with cover for Motorcycle 9 <br />ti <br />-A letter wa4from Chief J.J.Ha,tt recommending that Detective Harrold <br />Whitmer be rewarded for his act of bravery in capturing Elmo 'Smart, <br />filling station bandit while in the act of robbing a Standard. Oil Co. <br />filling station on the night of November 23rd. <br />Motion prevailed that action on Chief Hatt's recommendation be prospon- <br />ed until the next regular meeting . <br />Motion pre - Bailed to adjourn at 5 05 P.M. <br />tte st .. <br />!L'Q. <br />
