MEETING January 20, 1936 <br />Regular 'mee-ting of the Board of Public ' Safety was held on Monday, <br />January 20, 1936 at 8:45 A. M. All members were present. <br />Minutes of meeting of January 13th were read and approved. <br />Requisitions - numbers 08827 to 08835 were approved. Co. <br />5.43 <br />- <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT - Chief Freeh present. <br />Matters in general pertaining to the Fire Department were discussed <br />with the Chief and he was authorized to purchase a new siren at an <br />expense of approximately twenty dollars. <br />Application for position as fireman was received from John R. <br />Neitzel and ordered placed on file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT Mr. Qualls present: <br />Mr. Qualls reported that the new traffic signals, in accordance <br />with instructions from the Board a short time ago, at Michigan and <br />Bronson Streets are now installed. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - Assistant Chief Diedrich present: <br />Mr. Krauss, Jeweler, of 205 forth Michigan.Street,.appeared before <br />- the Board and complained about parking in front-of his store.. After <br />fully discussing the matter with him, the Board decided to take no <br />action at this time. <br />The Secretary was instructed in the case of all Officers on the <br />Fire and Police Departments who on probation to bring to the <br />attention of the Board the expiration of the probation period one month <br />before expiration. <br />Assistant Chief Diedrich was instructed to notify Officer Leo <br />Berner to obtain a report from the Board of Public Safety at the time <br />of his appointment that it was their intention to make him a police <br />officer at that time, also that he shall be examined at the present <br />time by Dr. Pauszek, the Police Doctor. Officer Berner is to have this <br />in the hands of this Board not later than February lst. <br />Application for position on the Police Department of Arthur W. <br />Harris Was presented to the Board and ordered placed on file. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:30 A.
