E. Koontz, there having been filed with the Board of Public <br />Safety an official bond in the amount of $1,000-00. <br />A Petition was submitted signed.by a number of the present police <br />officers, requesting that Officer Fred DeLee be considered in filling <br />the vacancy in the Dog Pound created by the death of M ines L. Wood. <br />Petition was ordered placed on file. <br />The matter of paying the dues of the Police Chief in the Inter <br />national Police Chiefs Association was referred to the City Controller <br />to determine if a proper account can be located to which this expense <br />may be charged. <br />Mr. Hunter reported upon his investigation of the situation on West <br />Indiana Avenue in reference to parking restrictions and stated that his <br />careful investigation and consultation with a number of businessmen in <br />that vicinity convinced him that parking restrictions on the south side <br />of Indiana Avenue at any time were very desirable. It was therefore <br />regularly moved, seconded and carried that no parking be established on <br />the south side of Indi ana Avenue from Kemble Avenue to William Streetl <br />effective ctive Sunday, November 17th, and the Chief of Police was ins <br />tructe.d <br />to place the proper signs. <br />The matter of revolver equipment used by the Police Department was <br />discussed and it was decided to replace the 32-20 Colt revolver now in <br />use, of which there are from eight to twelve carried by various officers, <br />with 38 Special Colt revolvers to the extent of not to exceed the amount <br />still remaining in the appropriation for equipment for this year, the <br />Secretary being instructed to make the best possible arrangement.. <br />DOG POUND: <br />Due to the death of Mines L <br />Wood on Wednesday, November 6th, thus <br />creating a vacancy in position of Dog Pound Master, the Board upon <br />regular motion seconded and carried appointed John A. Searles as Dog <br />Pound Master, his services to begin November 16) 1935. <br />Mr. Roy Morin, who has been operating the Dog Pound due to Mr. Wood's <br />illness, he being Mr. Wood's nephew, reported that the gun which the <br />City furnished to Mr. Wood was stolen on the day of the funeral I and the <br />E <br />I I <br />I I <br />
