ETIN G, Tuley A5 1935 <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Public 'Safety was held on Monday, July 15 <br />) <br />1935 at 9:00 A. M. All members- were.present. <br />The minutes-of. regular meeting of Tuly.8th were read and approved. <br />Claims in the amount of $490.09, from the following suppliers, were <br />approved and ordered paid: Requisitions No. 08559 to 0856.61 incl. gore approved. <br />- <br />Berman's Sport Goods Store $12.00 Western Union Telegraph Co. 0- <br />The Gibson Company .25. Ind. Bell Telephone Co. 1 -.0.3 <br />City dater Works 2.45 Ind. Bell Telephone Co. 2' 60 <br />.Xo. Indiana Public Service Co. 1.00 Ind. Bell Telephone C.o. 6.55 <br />.� the Gibson Company 16.59 City Water Works .429.717 <br />Peterson Battery & Igniti'on Co. 3.75 <br />s. American Red Cross 13.80 <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: Chief Freeh present: <br />The Chief brought up the question of making necessary repairs to fire <br />truck at No. 2 Hose House, which would cost approximately 4200.00. It was <br />regularly moved, seconded and carried that the Chief be authorized to make <br />} these repairs since the expense is fully covered by appropriation for the <br />present year. <br />The Chief, in a letter to the Board, informed them that with a dismantel <br />ment of the former No. 3 pumper, which has been reduced to junk, the only <br />salvage remaining is four 9OOx24x9" Firestone tires and six automobile batteries . <br />which can be used as trade -in on new equipment. No action was taken as to <br />disposal of this material. <br />The Chief, in a former letter, informed the Board-of the-return of the <br />police boat "to the Police. Department in the following communication: <br />The Honorable Board of <br />Publ i,o Safety <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: - <br />In compliance with your decision regarding the return of the police <br />boat to the Police Department on July 15, 1935 I herewith give you a complete <br />and itemized account of what this rescue boat is composed of, and that which <br />will be returned to the Police Department on the above date, as has been <br />stated specifically in this order.. <br />1 - Metal Boat (First class condition) <br />1 Trailer <br />2 Sets of Oars <br />1 - 8 ft. grab hook <br />1- 6ft. " » <br />1 - 5 ft. <br />1 - 5 gallon.-gasolene container <br />1 - Johnson Outboard Motor <br />1 3 in. rope <br />1 - in. " <br />1 - Suit Case (kit.of tools, etc.) <br />Thanking you for your splendid cooperation in this matter, <br />I am <br />Very truly yours, <br />William Freeh <br />CHIEF, FIRE DEPARTMENT. <br />The Chief requested permission to attend a convention of Central Western <br />- <br />Fire Chiefs at Lansing, Michigan, July 16, 17th and 18th, at his own expense. <br />The Board granted him permission to do so. <br />1 <br />The Chief brought before the Board a letter from the Seagrave Corporation, <br />enclosin proposal for the re- building of Seagrave Aerial Tractor X16235 at a <br />cost of 3,882.00. No action was taken in regard to this, pending decision as <br />to the purchase of new 1000 gallon Pumper for the Fire Department. <br />0 <br />
