q <br />Regular Ueeting <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on <br />Monday Feb. 4th, 1935 at 8:30 A ' -.1vi. ThIr. E. 111eyer & Son 27.13 <br />A communnieation from the Tiayor was read suggesting the ad- <br />visability of naming a Purchasing Agent for the City, in order that <br />proper bids maybe obtained and classified on all materials purchased <br />by the city, and to ascertain that the city has actually received all <br />materials for which it is billed. The matter was referred to the City <br />Attorney for investigation to detebmine under what procedure under the <br />law this suggestion can be carried out. <br />Fire Department, Chief Freeh present <br />Matters pertaining to his department were discussed. The <br />Chief brought up the matter of changing and rearranging Fire Alarm <br />boxes to improve the signal system, which was taken up with Mr. Qualls <br />later in the sleeting. <br />The following applications for the fire Department were <br />ordered placed on file <br />Vincent L. Kwiecinski <br />M . ,1. Ford <br />John F. Dembinski <br />Donald F. Clements <br />Electrical Department, Mr. Qualls present <br />Hatters pertaining to his department were discussed. The Board <br />took up the matter of changing and rearranging fire alarm boxes as <br />suggested by the Fire Chief, and authorized 1-1r. Qualls to proceed with <br />such changes. <br />Pauline Wolf, manager of the La Fong Kennels appeardd before <br />the Board with a proposition to take over the Dog Pound for a considerO <br />ation of $4000.00 annually. The matter was referred to the Secretary <br />to ascertain if any saving could be made over our present arrangement, <br />and to report at the next meeting. <br />Police Department, Chief Lgne present. <br />Matters pertaining to his department were discussed and the <br />Chief informed the Board of the progress that is being made in the <br />strike at the Oliver Farm Equipment Co. plant. <br />The following men were deputized to perform special police <br />work at the Oliver plant and approved by the Board. <br />Roy Kauffman Bob Kiser.
