245 Board met in reF,ular session at 10:00 A. 1I. All members present. Bids were recei-red for grade, curb and walk on Meade Street from Washington Avenue to Bertrand Street, under I_r„provement Resolution No. 303. The same ilsere opend.d and read and referred to the City E ioine.er for tabulation to be re ported back at 7:45 P.M. this 12t h. , day of May,1914. Bids were received for grade, curb and. walk on Frances Street from lst. alley south of Sorin Street to Madison Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 302. The Jame were opened and read and referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported back at 7:45 P.M. this 12th., day of blay71914. Bids were received for viater connections on Cedar Street from Emerick Street to Eddy Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 304. The same were opened �.:nd read and referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported_ back at 7:45 P.M. May 12th.1,1914. Bids were received for water connections on Pennsylvania Avenue froln Michigan Street to a-liami Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 306 The same were opened, read and referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported back at 7:45 P.M. May 12t h. ,1914. In the matter of the petition -filed with the Board under date of August �13th. 11914 for a pipeserer on Talbot Ave; ze fron South' Ben.d'Avenueto Howard' Street. The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare a resolution on t'.Le same and set for a hearing. Board ordered the Clerk to notify Hoban & Roach to reset the sewer: connection at lot 54 Portage Park Addition as per specifications. The same to be com— plied with not later than Three (3) days from servance of the notification. Board ordered a resolution prepared for the Vacation of the First Alley South of the proposed opneing of Calvert St-reett and set the saiie #or a hearing. Excavation bond for One Thousand ($1,000.00)-ollars signed by The Studebaker Corporation as principal and Nelson J. Riley and John F. Deacon as suteties eras approved by the Board. The following communication wLs received and placed on rile. To the Honorable Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Ibdiana. Gent lemenz r, _ At the regular meeting of the Common Council held on Monday evening, May llth, 1914, the following motions prevailed : MOTION BY COUNCILMAN HAGERTY, (Verbal) I move that the City Clerk request the Board of Public Works to instruct the Cemetery Sexton to keep Cemetery Gates open until eight o' clock P.M. every night until September lst. ,1914. MOTION BY COUNCILMAN HAGERTY. (Verbal) I move that the City Clerk request the Board of Public Works to in— struct the janitors to keep the City Hall free from rubbish, etc. Acted upon 5/12/14.
