Knoblock, unable to be present due to fire at time of meet- <br />-, . . iilg. <br />CTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />�Wr-intendent, Vlm. F. qualls, not present* <br />PCLICE DEPART'.-aNT: <br />Acting Chief, Horaae M. Hamilton, not present being in pursuit,of bank bandits <br />who held up a local bank and killed officer Howard Wagner. - <br />The Board scrutinized a report of the traffic-conditions in the city and <br />on motion by Gadacz, seconded by 1r. Trost itvwas decided that particular <br />study and attention be given to street intersections which the report revealed <br />as particularly dangerous. <br />A �equest for a no parking place in front of 1005 S. Lafayette St. was <br />ar nted. <br />following letter was ordered spread upon the minutes of this meeting: <br />the family of officer Howard Wagner:" <br />The Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana wishes <br />convey to you their sincere sympathy and condolence in your time of <br />row. <br />It is with profound sadness that the members of this Board learned of <br />sudden and tragic death of officer Howard Wagner one of the City's most <br />thful sertants for more than five years.
