28 Tuesday March 24th.,1914. Continued. GRADE? CURB AND WALK IMPROVEIVIENT RESOLUTION NO. 303. J Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,, - St. Joseph County; -State of Indiana, That it is deemed necessary to inprove Meade Street from Washington Street..to Bertrand Street by the construction of cement .sidewalks .and cement curb on both sides of- said Meade Street, where the sar_:e is not already constructed. And such improvement is now ordered, in accordance with the profile details, drawings and speefieatioris on file in the office of the Department of the Public Works of said City; and such improvementsis now` ordered. The cost of said improvement, including tI& cost of street and. al.1.'ey intersections, shall be assessed upon. the real estate abutting on *said Meade Street, .all according to the method and manner provided for in an Act of the General Assem- bly of the State of Indiana, Entitled "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations," approved March 6th.9, 1905, and in accordance t�!th and pursuant to the provisions of all amendatory, and supplemental acts thereto, .passed by the -General Assembly of the State of Indina. Assessments, if deferred , are to be paid in ten equal an— nual installments with interest at the rate of Six p►r cent per at -mum. A bond or bonds shall be i -,sued to the contractor in payment of such work, unless the property owners pay„said assessment before said bond or bonds are issued,. Under no cir-- cumstan,ces ' hall the City of South Bend, be, or be held responsible for any sum or sums, due from said property orner or oir.ers, for said work or for the collection of tine same, or for the p�,yxent of any bond, bonds,, certificate or certificates,. issued to said contractor in payment for such work, except for such moneys as shall' have been actually, received by the City from the assessments for such improvement, or suhh moneys as said City is by said above entitled Act required to pay. All proceed? --ings had, and work done in the making of said improvement, assessment of property collection of assessments and issuance of -bonds therefor, shall be as provided for in. said above entitled Act and amendem.ents thereto. Notice of this resolution shall be pi;.blished. on the 25th., day of March 1914 and on the lst., day of April,1914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune.
