2 9 [.J <br />Board met in re uiar session at 7:45 P.M, All members _present. <br />Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 296 for the Pavement on <br />Pennsylvania Avenue from Michigan Street to Miami Street, In the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana. <br />In the above matter remonstrators appeared before the Board, but' no <br />further written remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore after due consideration, <br />decided to defer all action on sane, until Tuesday March 31st.11914 at 7:45 P.M. <br />Hearing given ©n improvement Resolution No. 295 for the Pavement on <br />Cedar Street from Emerick Street to Eddy Street, In the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances <br />were filed. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvement that the <br />benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of <br />said improvement, and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 31st., day of March <br />1914 and on the 7th., day of Apri121914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that <br />this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. <br />on the 2ldt day of April,1914. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. <br />In the matter of the Grading and Curbing of Dayton Street from Leer <br />Street to Marine Street under Improvement Resolution No. 297. In the City of South Bel.d, <br />Indiana. <br />The Board having said matter under consideration,by -unanimous consent <br />decided tzia,t t,.le re6olution should be and the same is hereby and in all things rescinded. <br />Permission granted India & Michigan Electric Company to set the follow- <br />/ing poles. <br />To set 1-451 pole on the east side of the alley between St. Joe and <br />Carroll Stf about 110t south of Division, and to move our present transformer rack <br />to the east side of the alley back of the South Bend Bread Company. <br />Excavation bond for One Thousand (,*1,000.00)Dollars signed by James <br />Nelson as Prinicipal and the American Surety Company of New York as sureties and was ap- <br />proved by the Board. <br />Communication received from H. N. Banres asking for the privelege of sub- <br />stituting other kind of brick for the Wabash Brick as part of Resolution No. 293 to be <br />used in the construction of pavement on Ford Street. The Board after considering the <br />matter referred the same to the City Engineer ,who submitted the following recommendation. <br />I recommend Barr <br />Clay be <br />used <br />instead of Wabash providing Barnes will <br />furnish same at $1.40 per sq. yd$ <br />this <br />bid <br />for Wabash . <br />WM. Mr. Barnes as to the action of the <br />Board. <br />Contract signed for electric bulbs for the year beginning March lst.1,1914 <br />,,,/,.to March lst.21915 with the Brilliant Electric Division of Cleveland,Ohio, through their <br />ap,ent F.
