ALL _members present. <br />c <br />Bids were received and opened and read on the following improvement and were <br />referred to the City Civil Engineer for tabulation. <br />Pipe sewer on Parkovash Avenue from Iroquois Street to Lafayette St. under improve- <br />ment resolution No. 259. <br />✓ Pipe sewer on Tonti Avenue from Iroquois Street to Lafayette Street, under Improve- <br />ment resolution No. 260. <br />Pipe sewer on Eddy,Parry.and Francis Streets, under Improvement resolution No. 262. <br />Grade curb and walk on Dale Avenue from Dayton Street to Bowman Street, under <br />improvement Resolution No. 2£,4. <br />The City Civil Engineer filed with the Board the following report. <br />To the Hon. Board of Public Works, <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen',- <br />Regarding the Plat of Ida Studebaker Kuhns and Helen Studebaker Hendersons <br />First Addition. I beg to report -that I have examined the proposed plat and recommend <br />that it be approved. <br />The same was approved by the Board. <br />Very Truly, <br />WM. S. MOORE <br />City Engineer. <br />Permission granted t-be Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to set poles <br />✓ as per communications of February 6th., and 7th.,1914. <br />To set 2 -35' poles on the east side of Carroll Street, one on the property line be- <br />tween 1204 and 1210 and one on the southeast corner of Wenger and Carroll. This was <br />apa)roved as follows: Inside of curb and remove guy stub. <br />To set 1-35' pole on the west side of first alley west of Michigan St. about 70 ft. <br />south of Oakside Street. <br />Communication received from the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana <br />`'Railway Company in regard to verbal petition made before the Board by Mr. C. D. <br />Emmons as to the removal of Railway gates on East LaSalle Avenue. The Board ordered. <br />the Clerk to notify the aforesaid Company that they did not approve of the removal. <br />Contract for the printing in the Enginneering De-oa.rtment was awarded <br />,/to the Peerless Printing Company, for -the. a.mount of.......060.;.990.40 <br />Also George Horne for one book .................................. 19.50 <br />I Mr. George M. Urey, City Cemetery Sexton submitted his form for keeping <br />his cemetery accounts to the inspection of the Board. The Board approved of his <br />mode of procedure. <br />The Board agreed to purchase a burial tent and ordered the Clerk <br />/to secure prices ,for a tent to be used as a'protection to the vaults while 'in the <br />,course of construction. <br />Remonstrance presented to the Board from property holders remonstrancing <br />against pipe sewer on Adams Street. The same was read and placed on <br />Petition received,. for., a sewer on. -toward. Street from St. ' Louis ,Street <br />/ to Notre Dame fivenue. The same was -read and ref'e»red to the City Engineer for <br />investigation. <br />Petition received for a street light on Quimby Street between Eddy <br />Street and Francis Street. The same was read and referred to the Street Commissioner <br />for investigation. <br />
