Kuespert was present at the meeting and reported the activities <br />of his -dttment for the last -two weeks.- <br />On motion of Mr. Gadacz, seconded by Mr. Trost, it was unanimously agreed <br />to reinstate Doyal Rhymer on the Police Department effective Tan. 1019Z4.. <br />The Bayard instructed the Clerk to write letter of condolence to Mrs. <br />Emmett Baxter and ordered copy of said letter to be spread in -the <br />minutes of this record. <br />COPY OF LETTER AS FOLLOWS: <br />Mrs. Emmett L. Baxter, January 3, 1934. <br />841 Marietta St,, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Dear Madam: <br />The Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend wishes to <br />convey to you their sincere sympathy and condolence in your time of <br />sorrow. <br />It was with profound sadness that the members of this Board <br />learned of the death of your beloved husba one of the City is most <br />faithful servants for the pest fifteen. yeAr# <br />We trust it may be of some consolation to you to know of the <br />high esteem and regard in which your husband was held by his fellow <br />officers, and for you to know that the Board is cognizant of.the fine, <br />loyal and heroic service that he rendered this City since his appointment. <br />The members of the Board are deeply.in sympathy with you in <br />your bereavement, in the untimely passing of your dear husband. <br />Yours sincerely..- <br />BEARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY, <br />By Clarence A.
