REGULAR MEETING MAY 22, 2018 156 <br />PUBLIC HEARING — NEW MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENT — SUMMER SPA INC. <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a license <br />application for Summer Spa, Inc. He opened the Public Hearing and noted favorable <br />recommendations were received from the Area Plan Commission, Police, Fire, and Community <br />Investment Departments. Mr. Nick Nicolson and Ms. Junhua Guan, owners of the establishment <br />were present and spoke in favor. There being no one else present wishing to address the Board <br />concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. <br />Maradik, seconded by Ms. Dorau and carried, the application for a new Massage Establishment <br />was approved. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS — VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL RELOCATION <br />— PROJECT NO. 117-047A (REGIONAL CITIES GRANT) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referenced project. <br />The Clerk tendered proof of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune, which was found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />SLATILE ROOFING AND SHEET METAL CO., INC. <br />1703 S. After <br />reviewing those bids, Mr. Roger Nawrot, Engineering, recommended that the Board award the <br />contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder Slatile Roofing and Sheet Metal Co., <br />Inc., in the amount of $152,850 for the base bid only. Therefore, Ms. Maradik made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded and the contract approved as <br />outlined above.
