REGULAR MEETING May 29, 2018 <br /> Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend reconvened in the Council <br /> Chambers on the fourth floor of the County-City building at 7:06 p.m. Council President Tim Scott <br /> presided with seven (7) members present. <br /> BILLS —THIRD READING <br /> BILL NO. <br /> 22-18 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE TO <br /> VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED <br /> PROPERTY: FIRST NS ALLEY 14' IN WIDTH <br /> LYING W OF FELLOWS AND CARROLL <br /> STREETS, E OF MICHIGAN STREET, <br /> BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE S RIGHT- <br /> OF-WAY OF BRONSON STREET, BOUNDED <br /> ON THE SOUTH BY THE N RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> OF THE PENN CENTRAL RAILROAD, <br /> RUNNING APPROXIMATELY 248.78' 1N <br /> LENGTH. <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic made a motion to adopt Bill No. 22-18. Councilmember Karen White <br /> seconded the motion which carried by a roll call vote of seven(7) ayes. <br /> RESOLUTIONS <br /> There were no Resolutions. <br /> BILLS FIRST READING <br /> There were no bills for First Reading. <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> Council President Tim Scott stated, I would like to thank Karen L. White, TRANSPO, Amy Hill, <br /> Simone Johnson, all for our first(1St)District tour. I thought it was great. I would like to also thank <br /> Sharon McBride,Regina Williams-Preston,Jo M.Broden,and Karen for attending along with City <br /> Officials. Good things are happening and it looks like there has been progress. I would also like to <br /> thank Oliver Davis for being on TRANSPO and facilitating the bus. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Councilmember Karen White announced, May 30tt', 2018 at 3:00 p.m., our official 2019 Budget <br /> Kickoff meeting will be held at the South Bend Police Department in their conference room. All <br /> are invited to attend. Then on Thursday, May 31St, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. the working committee on <br /> synthetic drugs will be meeting and our goal is to move forward to share our working agenda. All <br /> are welcome. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis asked, Mr. Palmer, do you think we would be able to have the First <br /> Reading for our meeting for the other ordinance we are working on regarding harassments issues, <br /> you think, by next meeting? <br /> Council Attorney Bob Palmer confirmed, Yes. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis asked Mr. Palmer to summarize the ordinance. <br /> 3 <br />
