REGULAR MEET ING <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 21, 1933. <br />Meeting held <br />by the Board of Public Safety, Monday, -August 21,, 1933. <br />6.3 <br />Yeetinp was called to order by Ldr. C. A. Budd, Pnsident, at 9-10 A. Y. <br />Mr. Valentine. Gadacz, member,, absent. <br />A in the sum of $50'00 in favor of C. L. lidlhouse, was signed <br />and approved by the Board: <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Chief of Police, John B. Kuespert, reported the activities of his de- <br />partnent for the past week. <br />A motion was made by 1"r. Budd, -seconded by Yr. Trost, that Yr. Rex Risher <br />be reinstated in the Police Department, same to be effective as of this <br />date. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Fire Chief, Hoy Knoblock, reported the activities of his department for <br />the past week. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPfiRT1ENT <br />Wm. F. Qualls . Superintendent, reported the -activities of his department <br />for the past week. <br />WEIGETS AM ]MEASURES <br />The weekly report of Charles J. Bums, City Sealer, was examined and <br />ordered placed" of ile. <br />The fb1lowing communic'aitibn was delivered to the Board by City Clerk, <br />Gladys Monroe and was ordered placed of file: <br />To the Common uouncil <br />"August 7 , 1933 <br />Your Commit tee on Fees and Salaries to whom was <br />referred a le tte r of. the City Controller dated July 24 0 1933 relative <br />to the salary of Weights and lVleasures Inspector, begs leave to report <br />that from the figures quoted in that letter it would appear that the <br />writer of it ' was not aware that the Common Council fixed. the salary of the <br />Weights and M-easures Inspector at 51500.00 per annum in the last ordinance <br />enacted by the Council on that subject; and if the inspector is now <br />being paid on the bases of $150.00 per month, it is suggested that the <br />Council instruct the Control_ ler to take steps immediately to comply with <br />said ordinance. <br />Your Committee further states that at the time of the <br />adoption of said ordinance your Cormit 6n Fees and Salaries and the <br />entire Common Council had Ball Of tue information reLzarding the St. Joseph <br />County feature of the Inspector's duties and salary as well as that of <br />the City before it. <br />Respectfully, <br />Andrew 11.
