REGULAR MEETING April 23, 2018 <br /> wonderful and I can't wait until it is up and running. We appreciate your commitment to the City <br /> but also the work that you've done. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis stated, I would also like to say something. Having you and Mr. <br /> Panzica work together was nice to see. It benefits you and it benefits the City. I told you earlier I <br /> like the design. It is going to be great. <br /> Councilmember Jo M. Broden stated, Thank you for your investment and welcome to the fourth <br /> district. <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic made a motion to adopt Bill No. 18-19. Councilmember Oliver Davis <br /> seconded this motion which carried by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> RESOLVE INTO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br /> At 7:43 p.m. Councilmember Karen White made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the <br /> Whole. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine <br /> (9) ayes. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic, Chairperson,presiding. <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic explained the procedures to be followed for tonight's meeting in <br /> accordance with Article 1, Section 2-11 of the South Bend Municipal Code. <br /> Councilmember Karen White made a motion to suspend the rules to hear Bill No. 14-18 before <br /> Bill No. 05-18. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which carried unanimously by <br /> a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> BILL NO. <br /> 14-18 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE <br /> AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND <br /> SEEKING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION FOR <br /> PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1619 S MICHIGAN <br /> STREET, COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 3 IN <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> Councilmember Tim Scott made a motion to continue Bill No. 14-18 until the May 28th, 2018 <br /> Common Council meeting. Councilmember Karen White seconded the motion which carried <br /> unanimously by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> 05-18 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE <br /> AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR <br /> PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3527 LINCOLN <br /> WAY WEST, COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. <br /> 1 IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> (COUNCIL PORTION ONLY) <br /> Councilmember Gavin Ferlic stated, Councilmember Williams-Preston and I had the opportunity <br /> to meet with the adjacent property owners and I really appreciate both side's willingness to meet <br /> and have, what I thought to be, a productive discussion. Following that we met with the attorney <br /> for the petitioner and review their written commitments. Those were submitted to the Council and <br /> a statement from the adjacent property owner was also submitted to the Council regarding their <br /> opinion on the matter. <br /> Councilmember Regina Williams-Preston stated, I want to thank the two (2) parties. This was <br /> something I specifically requested was the opportunity to come together and maybe be able to <br /> work some things out to exist peacefully in the same space. I think we had a great conversation <br /> and I appreciate both parry's willingness to come to the table. <br /> 8 <br />
