I <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 23,1933. <br />Regular meeting held by the Board of Public Safety Monday, <br />January 23, 1933. <br />Meeting called to order by Mr. C. A. E. Johnston, Jan. 19, 1933. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Officer Peter Rudynski who was suspended from duty January, <br />16, 1933, appeared before the Board to answer the charged <br />of "Neglect of Duty" preferred against him by Chief John. B. <br />Kaespert. Mr. Budd read the following charges: <br />"I herewith prefer the following charges against <br />Patrolman Peter Rudynski in that the said Officer <br />has been guilty of "Neglect of Duty". To-wit: <br />That on January 13, 1933, Patrolman Rudynski did <br />enter the office of the D. Lontz Coal Co., 427 <br />E. Colfax Avenue at 1:18 A.M., and that the said <br />officer remained there to 2:05 A.M., and he again <br />entered at 2:32 A.M., and remained to 2:57 A.M. <br />Again entered at 3:20 A.M., remaining to 4:15 A.M. <br />That on January 14, 1933, the said officer entered <br />the above mentioned place at 12 :15 A.M., and left <br />at 1:00 A.M., and re-entered the place at 2:12 A.M.,and <br />left at 2:50 A.M. <br />That on January 15, 1933, the said officer entered <br />the above mentioned place at 12: ' 30 or some time <br />prior to that time and was found there by Captain <br />of Police Edward Morris and Sergeant of Police <br />William Diedrich at 12:30 A.M. <br />That the said officer on several occasions has <br />made his last report from Box No. 225 while his <br />schedule calls for Box No. <br />That-the said officer on entering the above <br />mentioned Coal Company office was'off his assigned <br />post. All of which is in violation of the rules <br />of the South Bend Police Department. <br />These charges will be substantiated by Sergeant <br />William Diedrich and Captain Edward Morris. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />JOHN B. KUESPERT <br />Chief of Police." <br />After hearing the charges, Officer Rudynski pleaded guilty. <br />On reoommeddation of Mr. Budd, motion was made by Mr. Gadacz, <br />se conded by Mr. Trost, and - unanimously car3ied that Officer <br />Rudynski be ordered back to duty immediately and that he <br />lose two weeks pay in lieu of a fine. <br />I I <br />I <br />-M <br />
