18 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />'JANUARY 9, 1933. <br />Regular meeting held by the Board of Public Safety Monday, <br />January 9, 1933. <br />Meeting called to order by Mr. C. A. Budd at 9:45 A.M. <br />All members present. <br />- Minutes of last regular meeting were approved. <br />Bill in the amount of $5.94, payable to Lucius LaFortune <br />was allowed. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Chief of Police, John B. Kuespert, out of the city, there— <br />fore unable to be present at this meeting. <br />The Board authorized Michael Barany, Clerk, to purchase <br />three 1933 City Directorys. <br />Councilmen Cyrus Altfeld, John C. Hiss, and Earl S. Gustin <br />met with the Board to discuss the police radio situation. <br />Mr. Budd explained, in detail, the necessity of the radio <br />system. Although the Board had no plans for financing <br />the purchase of ,radio equipment, Mr. Budd stated that at <br />this time they would draw up an ordinance and introduee., <br />same to the for the negotiating for radio equipment. <br />. .I <br />Michael Barany, Clerk, presented gasoline report for the <br />month of December, which was examined and ordered placed" <br />on file. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />On recommendation of Fire Chief, Roy A. Knoblock, motion was. <br />made by Mr. Gadacz, seconded by Mr. Trost, and unanimously <br />carried, that the Board accept the fire truck purchased from <br />General Fire Truck Company of St. Louis, Mo., and instructed <br />the Clerk to mail check covering purchase price* <br />Application of George Dollie was approved and ordered placed <br />on file. ' <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />William F. Qualls, Superintendent, presented weekly time sheets <br />and reported on the activities of his departments for the past <br />week. <br />WEIGHTS and MEASURES DEPARTIONT <br />Weekly report of Chas. J. Burns, City Sealer, presented, ex- <br />amined and ordered placed on file. <br />
