PA W <br />0 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 21, 1932 <br />Regular meeting held by the Board of Public Safety Monday, <br />November 21, 1932. <br />I'Tleeting called to order at 9:10 A.M. <br />Those in attendance were 1 C. A. Budd, Tyr. Valentine J. Gadacz, <br />and IdTr. 'ffm. H. Trost, Jr. <br />Bills in the amount of X182.10 were approved, bearing requisi- <br />tion numbers as follows: <br />02238 02267 05206 02189 02266 05312 <br />02242 02259 05333 02254 02268 05331 <br />02243 05337 Indiana Bell Teleph Co. 9/27/32. <br />POLICE DEPARTS ENT <br />On motion of I.Ir. Gadacz, seconded by Mr. Trost, and unanimous- <br />ly carried, the Board instructed 1,lichael Barany, Clerk, to <br />issue order to Scherman-3chaus-Freeman Company for three (3) <br />Bullet-Proof Windshields at 495.00 each installed. <br />Chief Knespert reported that his department was successful in <br />rounding-up five bandits who participated in a number of <br />burglaries and hold-ups in this county and who were responsible <br />for the de s'truction of machinery and clothing in the Swanks <br />Laundry and Cleaning Company. <br />Chief Kuespert requested a few days leave of absence, which <br />request was granted by the Board. <br />`Meekly report of Policewoman, Mrs. 1 Evans, was examined <br />and placed on file. <br />FIRE DEPARTIT'"ENT <br />On recommendation of Fire Chief, Roy.. Knoblock, motion was <br />made by Irr. Gadacz, seconded by 1 Trost, and unanimously <br />carried, that a Cooling System be purchased from the General <br />Fire Truck Company,and installed'on the fire truck purchased <br />from their company, at a cOst'of $200.00. <br />At the request of Ift. !I. Trost, Jr. , the following letter <br />presented by Fire Chief, Roy A. Knoblock, be made a record: <br />"To the Honorable I.Tembers of the Board of Public <br />Safety: <br />Gentlemen: <br />As for your information of the test given on <br />Wednesday, November 9, 1932, of the Pierce-Arrow <br />Truck Engine No. 10 on a 9/10 of a mile riul., the <br />time was one minute and forty-three.seconds, and <br />the Pierce-Arrow Truck Engine No. 5 was one <br />min and forty-one seconds. On Seagrave Truck <br />Engine No. 1, the time was one minute and fifteen <br />seconds. <br />Yours respectfully, <br />ROY A. K'NOBLOCY (signed) <br />South Bend Fire Department." <br />Applications of Edwin B. Busch, Stephen J. Hegge were approved <br />and placed on file. <br />W-1 <br />
