Tuesday August 26t h. ,1913 . <br />Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members` present. <br />,/Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 291 for the Pipe sewer on Sunnyside Avenue <br />-LaSalie Avenue, and Colfax Avenue, In ".the City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />n the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no further remon- <br />strances were file . The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvement <br />the the benefits to the property nd to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated <br />cost of said improvement and the same are .hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and <br />approved._ <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 26th., day of August <br />1913 and on the 2nd. dgy of September 1913 in the South Bend Daily News-Times,.stating <br />that this Board will, receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. <br />on the 12th., day of September 1913.at The Board reserves the right to reject any and all <br />'yids. <br />0 <br />The following communication were received and read by the Board. <br />1/ Hon. Board of Public Works. <br />South Bend, Indian,. <br />Gentlemen: - <br />Referring to the remonstrance signed by Mr. Miller, Mr. Stephenson,, and myself <br />against the proposed sewer on Sunnyside Avenue, wuld say that Mr. Kuhns and myself, have <br />come to an agreement in regard t® this matter, whereb y it is understood that my total <br />assessment shall not exceed Two Hundred Dollars, and _that Mr. Kuhns is to be responisble <br />for the balance. <br />Mr. Kuhns advised me that he has entered pinto an agreement with Mr. Miller, and <br />will with Mr. Stephenson as soon as he can get into communication with him. <br />You may therefore consider my name withdrawn from the remonstrance on these <br />conditions. <br />Very truly yours, <br />J. C.Birdsell. <br />Board.of Public Works, <br />/ South,Bend, Indiana. <br />Gentlemen: - <br />Referring again to the subject of a pipe sewer on Sunnyside Avenue permit me to <br />say that rather than stand in the way of the improvement and as an accommodation to Mr. E. <br />Louis Kuhns I will submit to an assessment of $50. Mr. Kuhns writes me this will be <br />satisfactory with him and that he will pay th a remainder of the assessment. If the sewer <br />would be a benefit to my property I would be willing to stand the entire assessment, but as it <br />is absolutely not needed by me I have agreed with Mr. Kuhns as indicated in the foregoing. <br />Very sincerely yours, <br />F.A.Miller. <br />,/ .In the matter of the Vacation of Alley in Kauffmant s Place for the Harmon Coal Company. Barnes, Contractor for pavement on Kemble Avenue, under Imp <br />improvement Resolution No. 226, for the amount of............................$3,439•$0 <br />/Partial estimate allowed C.L.Headley for grade, curb and walk improvement on St. Vincent Stree <br />under Improvement Resolution No., 235. for the amount of.........................$12199.17 <br />,,/ Contract for grade, curb and walk on Tenth Street was awarded to Louis Zeigero <br />t-Contract for Grade, curb a d walk on Foster Street, under Improvement Resolution No. <br />271. was awarded to George Headley. <br />V' Grade, curb and walk on Corby Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 257. was awarded <br />to Hugh Anderson. <br />..V, - r <br />President. <br />
