Friday August 22nd.,1913. <br />Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. <br />Bids were received opened and read for. grade, garb and walk improvements on,. the follow- <br />ing Streets. <br />,/ Grade, curb and walk on Corby Street from East end of Street as platted and laid out in <br />Morey's Addition to Walsh Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 257. <br />Grade, curb and walk on Tenth Street from Wall Street to G.T. Western Ry. Co. right of <br />way,un,der Improvement Resolution No. 257. <br />Grade, curb and walk on Foster Street from Howard Street to St. Vincent Street$ ,under <br />Improvement Resolution No. 271. <br />The same were referred to the Laity Engineer for tabulation to be reported back Tuesday <br />August 26th. 11913. at 10: 00 A.M. <br />Mr. Yeagley Attorney for the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Ry. Company and Mr. E. H. <br />Potter their Agent appeared before the Board in regard to the Vacation of an alley in <br />Kaugfmax's Addition for the Harmon Coal Company. The matter was deferred until Wednesday <br />August 27t h. ,1913 at 10 : 00 A.M. <br />Stewart -Sheets Company appeared before the Board and asked permission to substitute a brick <br />sewer under the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway Company's right -of --way for the <br />Bowanan Creek sewer within the same. The reason for such substitution being the im- <br />possibility of obtaining the cast iron pipe as specified. Mr. Yeagley, Attorney for <br />the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern, Railway Company and Mr. Fenno, Engineer for said <br />company appeared and agreed to substitution of Brick for the cast iron pipe. ' to $e reported back to the Board. <br />� <br />The contract for water connections on Marion Street from Leland Avenue to Scott Street <br />was awarded to Thomas Williams. <br />Bonds and contracts for the following improvements Were approved by the Board. <br />Bond and contract signed by Staples and Ackerman as princcpal and the American. Surety <br />Company of New York as surety for pipe sewer on Cleveland Avenue, under Improvement <br />Resolution Pfo. 295. was approved by the Board. <br />,,-'Bond and contract signed by Staples and Ackerman as principal and American Surety Company <br />of New York as Surety for pipe sewer on. Franklin Street from Indiana Avenue to Calvert <br />Street, under improvement Resolution No. 2E6. was approved by the Board. <br />Bond, and contract signed by Hoban and Roach as principal and American Surety Company <br />of New York as surety for Pavement on Webster Street from Sample Street to South line of <br />Sample Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 273. was approved by the Board. <br />,--Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for water connections on Dunham <br />Street from Harris Street to Arnold Street, under improvement Resolution No. 27E. In the <br />City of South Bend, Indi .na. <br />Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published <br />for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times, commencing on the 25th., day of <br />August, stating `that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its <br />office in the City Hall on the 12th., day of September 1913 at 7:45 P.M. <br />Resolved farther, that the entire work under the above contracts be <br />accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice .of this resolution <br />shall be .published on the 25th., day of August,1913 in the South Bend Daily News - <br />Times, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of subh work at its <br />office in the City Hall on the 12th. , day of September,1913 at 7:45 P.M. <br />
