261 <br />The regular meeting of the Ballard of,Public a afety was held in the <br />Boards Office Monday October 31st. , 1927. <br />Meeting was called to order by Pres. Engeldrum at 4:30 P.M. <br />Mr. Nicely was not present <br />Minutes of the last f=egular meeting were read and approved. <br />FIRE DEPT. <br />Fire Dept. bills were approved anct- o- rdbred uaid. , <br />ELECTRICAL DEPT. <br />Electrical Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid <br />Motion prevailed that the weekly report of Supt r�ualls for the week ending <br />-' Oct. 30th be accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />DEPT. OF WEIGHTS & MEASURES <br />Motion prevailed that the weekly report of City Sealer Burns for the week <br />ending Oct. 29th be accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />City Sealer Burns reported to the Board that several retail merchants <br />were found with packages of dried fruit etc. on their shelves short of tkB <br />supposed weight. <br />Mr. Burns was assured that he would have the approval of the Board in case <br />of prosecution of any case of this nature where sufficient evidence was <br />found to warrent prosecution. <br />POLICE DEPT. <br />Police Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed that the applications of Eugene Lister, J. Edward Moore, <br />Marion H. Peterson, Frederick:John Strube, and John J. leader be accept - <br />ed and ordered placed on file.' <br />A petition signed bt H.F.Reaves, Geo. Toth and other residence and:busines <br />men of the vicinity of Kemba Ave. & West Indiana Ave was presented to t. <br />the Board r6questing that Kembal Ave. be made a, preferential street at <br />the intersection of West Indiana Ave. <br />Motion prevailed that this .matter be refered to Asst. Engeldrum <br />Mr. Reeder was not present <br />Minutes -of the last regular meeting were read and approved. <br />FIRE DEPT. <br />Fire Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid <br />ELECTRICAL DEPT. <br />Electrical DeDtlls were approved and ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed that the weekly report of Supt. Qualls for the week end - <br />ing November 6th be approved and ordered palced on file. <br />DEPT. OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES <br />City sealers bills were approved and ordered paid. <br />_ Motion prevailed that the weekly report of City Sealer Burns for the <br />week ending November 5th be accepted and ordered palced on file. <br />POLICE DEPT. <br />Police Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid <br />Motion prevailed that the application of F.L.Irmid be accepted and or <br />placed on file; also.the application of former Officer Lloyd Stull for <br />reinstatement. <br />Upon the recommedation of Chief Hatt motion prevailed that Officer Fohn <br />Stasinski be given an increase &f $10.00 per month in salary for a period <br />of 5 months ( per ordinance # 2629 ) in rec,oginition of outstanding police <br />service in capturing two filling station bandits on the night of October <br />30th., 1927. <br />Motion prevailed to adjourn at 5:00 P.M. <br />Attest. <br />C 1 e rn V a.° o _ _ <br />
