July 27, a postponed meeting due to the <br />fact that the American Legion Convention was held in the city on Monday <br />and Tuesday. Mr Engeldrum and Mr. Reeder were present. <br />Bills for the fire department were allowed and ordered paid. <br />Requisitions for the fire dept' were approved.. <br />The application of John, Wolowicz and Sylvester Riffel was approved and <br />ordered placed on file. <br />Bills for khe:Electrical Dept. were approved and ordered paid., <br />On - motion of Mr ; eecter Mr. 1[ualls was% instructed to erect a traffic <br />signal at LaFayVete and Wayne Sts. at once. On motion. of Mr. Engeldrum <br />and passage by a second of Mr. Reeder a police box located in an <br />isolated alley off Mishawaka Ave was ordered moved to Misiawaka'Ave and <br />a.pedestal installed , for same, at once <br />Bills for the weight and measures dept-. were approved and <br />ordered paid.. Motion prevailed to file the weekly report-of this dept. <br />The reinstatement.of'Officer Lucius LaFortune was acted <br />upon. 116tion prevailed. to reinstate 1aFortune 'as 'of August lst:- providing <br />a physical examination of the police surgeon shows his ability to qualify. <br />Said examination to be submitted: by the Clerk of the Board to the Seeretary <br />of the Pension Fund for aetion, before assignment. Assignment to be made by <br />Chief dames 1. Ha.tt._ Ruling of the Board that a mart who reinstates before <br />six months expires will retain his lsto class pay rate, <br />Motion prevailed,to instruct the clerk to compliment the <br />police and Firemen on their a.pp®arnaoe in the Legion parade--and the way <br />in which they handled traffic * - Letter to be_sent to Capt. Bunker through <br />Chief -Hatt and letters to ea ©h Captain of the Fire Dept. <br />Motion prevailed to instruct Chief Hatt to have his 'men <br />to use special diligence in the prevention-of one headlight drivers.
