All members p.reasent. <br />Hearing had erg Improvement Resolution Me. b172 for the Grade, <br />Curb and walk on'Vassaar Avenue from Brookfield Street to College Street, in the <br />City, of South Bend, Indiana <br />Upon, said hearing as remonstrators appeared and ne written <br />remonstrance was filed. The Board beige; fully advised In the premises, decides <br />that the benefit t to property Liable to be assessed for said improvement are <br />e+gval to the Ostimated cost of the same, as reported by t7a,e City Civil Engineer, <br />and thereupon takes final action, on said resolution .as originally adopted, and <br />the same is hereby is all things, ratified, .confirmed and approved, <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 24th.. day <br />of May 1923.and on the 31st.4ay of May 1923 in the South Bend News Times and <br />Tribune in said City, statiang that this Board will receive bids for the con- <br />struction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M, on the 12th. day of June 1923 <br />The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />Hearing had on Ta<provemen,t Resolution No. 1173 for the Grade, <br />Curb and walk Improvement on Vassar Avenue fTom College Street to Adams Street, <br />In the City of Sath Bead, Indiana <br />Upon said hearing so remonstrators appeared and As written <br />remonstrance vas filed. The Board therefore being fully 4dvlsed in the premises <br />decides that 'the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement <br />are equal to the estimated`rcost of the same, as reported by the City Civil <br />Engineer, and thereupoa takes final action on said resolution as originally <br />adopted, and 'the same is hereby in aallLhings, rattled, confirmed and approved. <br />Resolved further, that notices be published on the 24th. day <br />df May 1923 and on the 319t. day of May 1923 in the South Bead Tribune and News <br />Times, in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construct <br />ties of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday June 12th.., 1923. The Board. <br />reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />Mr. Jacob Kerner and property owners residing on Dale Ave nae <br />between Broadway to Indiana Avenue appeared before the Board and requested that <br />same action bent taken to have We avenue improved. The Board advised prope$; <br />property owners present that -a trip of investigation would be made after regular <br />session Tuesday May 223Ld., 1923 <br />Attorney S. Crumpacker appeared before the Board and presentt <br />Petition of the Pennsylvania, Cincinsati, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad Company <br />to change loc4ti®n of switch tracks same was read and approved as follows: - <br />South Bead, Indiana. <br />May i4th.:9 1923. <br />To the Honorable Board of Public Works <br />Of the City of South Bad, Indiana, <br />The Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, & St. Louis Railroad <br />Company respectfully petitions and shows to your Honorable Body that it is <br />a common carrier for hire and now owns and operates an hndustrial side track <br />within the eopperate limits ofthe City of South Bend, that is connected with <br />the main lines and switch tracks of this petitioner south of Tutt Street in said <br />City and runs in a general northerly direction along the.west side of the right, <br />Of way of this petitioners across Tutt Street in said City and is marked with an <br />.K on the blue print map attached hereto and made a part of this petition; <br />that said Industrial side track serves the Studebaker Corporation north of Tutt <br />Street and other industries south of Tutt Street; that it is desired to disconne <br />disconnect said industrial side track at the south line of Tutt Street and move <br />the northerly segment of said track to the east as shown on the accompanying <br />blue print by the dotted yellow line, and connect the same on the private right <br />of way of this petitioner with the tracks of this petitioner as shown on the <br />accompanying blue print; that the purpose of this shifting of said: industrial: <br />track i-s to better serve the Studebaker Ctrperatien without being interrupter <br />throught the service of the parties using said Industrial track south of Tutt St <br />
