Board met in regular session at 9:00 A.M. All members present <br />City Attorney Hammond met with the Board in regard to +a siiit <br />now in Court filed by Kovach and Kish for more damages for property taken, for <br />the relocation of Catalpa Avenfie and Chpain Street. This natter .was discussed and <br />the Board advised City Attorney to arrange whatever settlement he thought best <br />in this case. <br />Board has matter of placing electric lights in River Park, up <br />with. Mr. English, Mgr. of the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company and Mr. Stelle <br />of said Company. Mr. English, -stated he would wake some arrangements with the <br />Welsbash Street Lighting -Company of AmerisEax to - keep present gars lights now in <br />use in River Park, until the electric street lights can be placed, also stated <br />that the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company will start soon to place iron posts <br />for lights in Mishawaka Avenue . <br />An extension of time was granted to GeorgeEPontareili on sewe <br />sewer contract in Weidler's Addition to September 15th., 1923. <br />Petitions filed as follows: - <br />To install light on Olive Street between Longley Avenue and <br />Lincoln Way West north of-Viadu et: Same referred to the Pole and Wire Inspector. <br />Boulevard lights on West Jefferson from 1st. alley west of <br />Main Street to Lafayette Blvd. Inspector recommended there be underground conduit <br />andiron posts for single lights placed on Jefferson Blvd From the first alley wet <br />west of Main Street west of Jefferson approved. <br />Inspector recommended there be placed IS single lights on <br />iron posts on Michigan Street from Monroe Street from South Street. <br />Inspector reported light not necessary at stop No. 2 Peashaay <br />and Northern Indiana Ry. Company crossing at Harter Heights, <br />Mr. Southward appeared before the Board representing the <br />Chicago, Santh Bend & Northern Indiana Railway Company for permission to set <br />trolley poles temporarily in front of the Auditorium Theatre Building until <br />such time permanent arrangements can be made to place trolley wire to new building <br />Same granted. <br />Board requested the City Engineer and Street Commissioner <br />to have the City Attorney drawn up an new ordinance for plumbers Buts in streets. <br />Contractors bond for ik* sun of One Thousand Dollars of tko <br />South Bend.Baewing Company released. <br />Renewal certificate of Euekn Jordon Company approved. <br />Board ordered money held up on Sibley Avenue sewer improve- <br />ment contract released to Hoban & Roask, upon.resommeadatiox of City Engineer. <br />Petition teled and resolution ordered for grade, curb and <br />walk on Fox Street from Vernon Street to Kline Street. <br />petition filed and resolution ordered for pavement on <br />Edgewater.
