3 - <br />Special meeting of the .Board of ''afety held. in the offices of the Board of <br />Safety Feb. 11 at 7;30 p m. The call., issued by Mr. Bngeldrum and all members <br />were present, The meeting was attended by Mayor,Mantgomery who Wished the <br />board to compliment Officers Martin and Kubiak for their excellent service. <br />in apprehending -a robber and the injury of a second, On motion of.Mr. Reeder 6.nd <br />a second by Mr. Nicely the board moved to intorduce a measure in the council <br />establishing a merit sistem in the matter of rewarding officers for meritorious <br />service. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Mr.. Nicely and a second by Mr, Reeder it was moved to pay <br />Officer'Kubiak at the rate of.l" dollars per month effective Feb, 16 . Officer <br />Arden Kline who has been apontedo special officer was appointed a regular <br />patrolman and his pay to b Nf�etive as of Feb, lst, 1927, Motion carried, <br />Motion prevailed that Officer Martin and Kubiak be rewarded by increasing <br />their pay 10 dollars per month for a period of 10 months providing the ordinance <br />for such expenditure passes the council <br />Motion prevailed to adjourn. <br />Attest 1,&/UA Signed <br />Clerk of the Board, r si ent of the Board. <br />The regular meeting of the Board Of Public Safety was held in the Boards <br />y,� Office �Io.nday Februar�l4th. , 1927 <br />X11 memberd were presen iee�i`ng was called to order by Pres. Lyman, Geo. Kovacs, Louis E. Michinski, Milo-E. Huffman. Also <br />the application for reinstatement of Curtis P. Turnoek. <br />ELECTRICAL. DEPT. <br />F` lotion prevailed to accept and order placed on file the ive�:k ±J report of <br />Supt. Oualls for the week ending Feb. 12th. 1927. <br />,Motion prevailed to instruct Supt. Qualls to erect an overhead traffic <br />signal at the corner of Lafayette add Sample St. as soon as possible. <br />} DEPT. OF WEIGHTS AND T,P_i ASURES <br />* -titian prevailed to accept and order placed on file the weekly report of <br />City Sealer Burns for the week ending Feb. 12th. 1927. <br />POLICE DEPT. <br />:Bill A 11 V t.o #'11 y were approved and ordered paid. <br />f, Motion prevailed to'accept and order placed on file the application of <br />Hahn61d A. Schutt. <br />Motion prevailed to apnrove the official bond of Officer Arden Kline <br />naming Officer Y1ine,as principal and Officer Arden Kline, Olen A. Clark <br />s <br />and.Fred P. Crowe as surety.. <br />Motion-.rettailed that the Police.Pension Fund be all check for the <br />sum of $5.24, made out to the Police Pension Fund by the Hurwich Iron Co- <br />-for the sale of old"news. papers gathered from about the Police Station <br />by the Police Officers. <br />Motion prevailed to recommend to the City Council that the sum of, $,6,500,. <br />00 be.'appropiateo from the General Fund for the following necessitys,;for <br />the police and Fire Dept. <br />Re painting of Truck #1 for the Fire Dept - - - - - -- 2�0, <br />Supernummary Car and sirens for Police Dept- - -- - - - - -__ - - - - - -_ x,350.' <br />Purchase of combination Patrol and Ambulance for�the Police DeptA4, 900. <br />This combination Patroland. Ambulance will be known as the ambulance <br />and used as a police patrol only.in emergencies. <br />Motion prevailed to make the following promotions and demotions in the <br />Police -Dept, to take effect February 16th., 1927. <br />Sergt;�John Steinburg to be reduced to the rank of Patrolman and to be <br />placed on Day Traffic Duty. <br />Sergt. Benjiman Roberts; to be reduced to the rank of Detective, and his <br />assignment in the D�ective Dept' to be left to Capt. Hamilton. <br />{ Officer Ellis Diver to be promoted to the Rank of Sergt. and be placed . <br />in charge of the Traffic and Information desk. <br />Officer Theo.
